2 ON 2 OPEN LEAGUE

There are two people on a team and it can be any combination of Club Members: 2 men, 2 ladies, a mixed team, senior and junior – an ‘open’ league. A game is 6 ends and each team uses 6 rocks. A game takes approximately 50 minutes. There is very little sweeping and not very much walking because players do not change ends and you are only allowed to sweep your partner’s rock from the hog line in. There are two full Draws on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. League play involves a round-robin and playoffs. Rules are posted downstairs in the Club. This game is rapidly escalating in popularity across Canada. It is a lot of fun and works with any skill level.
Convenor: Bob Hetherington

THURSDAY NIGHT OPEN LEAGUE

This league will have two draws of 6-end games on Thursday evening. It is a competitive team entry and will be an all-inclusive ‘open’ league that will include Men’s, Ladies and Mixed teams from both within the Club as well as from the community. This initiative is intended to encourage the younger demographic as well as others in the community to get involved in the sport of curling with a focus on fun and to eventually join the Club as a full member. Teams may have more that four curlers and the fee is $300.00 per team for the entire season. (House league teams with skill levels from beginner to experienced.)
Convenor:    Reg Humphries
